This product still shows the message saying that is not made for the iphone, but it does everything, charge, play, alarm, lights, I have no noise at all in any call so the filter works. Not very powerful like many other expensive brands, but perfect for ambient sound and useful in the bedroom. Nice product overall, really good price
Now I can dock mine AND the wife's, not to mention set an alarm for just Monday through Friday, an alarm for just Sunday morning and still have a third alarm setting available for those rare Saturdays where getting up at a certain time is necessary. You can't beat the features for the price. Brilliant. Great sound for something so small, dual docks capable of receiving two iPhones simultaneously, three alarm settings, good looking design, comes with everything you need. Most similar solution only have one dock and aren't iPhone compatible. Only gets docked a star because most of the controls are on the remote. If that thing ever gets lost or breaks (it's no bigger than a credit card), the unit will be useless.
The other issue is that the remote is the way you have to program most all of the functions. I am very pleased with the JVC Radio / iPod / Charger. The only issue is that the time does not reappear when the radio is on, only the station. Sound and the quality is great. I do not believe in a 2 iPod / iPhone family you can live with out this unit.
That's my only real complaint and it's frustrating, so I hope they work out this kink. I didn't buy this unit to serve as an alarm clock and like others, I think the color display is useless, but it doesn't bother me. You do have to fight with it a little sometimes to accomplish this, as the unit wants to default to playing the iPod more than it likes youtube, but I found if I begin to play a video from my iPod first it works better when I switch to the youtube App. I live in a small space and I wanted something I could take from my bedroom to my kitchen easily. This is not a selling point that the manufacturer has made a big deal out of, but it's my favorite thing about the unit. As someone else said, it's not Bose, but a Bose unit doesn't do as much and it costs much more.
I think it sounds fantastic for a small unit.
But it's still minor.
Besides youtube, you can also use the unit to play any of the free radio stations Apps you can get from the iTunes Apps store, including Pandora.
I bought this unit so I could play my iPod Touch through speakers and to watch and listen to youtube videos without having to use my computer and headphones to get good audio.
I also wish all the functions were available on the unit instead of needing the remote, but since I'm not using it for an alarm clock, I set the time and the treble/bass levels and I didn't need the remote for anything else.
I haven't tried to hook up the video output to my TV yet but I know I'd love that.
I am thrilled I can turn the unit sideways and watch youtube videos with my iPod Touch and get better sound than from my laptop.I got mine for $71 on ebay, so if you look around, you can get a price break.
So if you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch with a wireless internet connection, you will love that you can use the sound/media type Apps from your iPhone or iPod Touch and get better (and real stereo) sound than the iPhone or iPod Touch has, without using headphones.
If I get an iPhone later on, I can play and charge both units at the same time.I would definitely recommend buying it, especially if you want to watch and hear youtube videos without using your computer.
It's really not a problem because you just set the alarm on the iPod instead. I'm no audiophile however I believe I can differentiate between products that sound nice and products that are just plain lame (the ones that specialise in distortion and interference - yuck). I see some folk aren't happy with the alarm feature. . It receives all FM stations with ease.I would buy this product again based solely on the sound quality. The sound really is very good.
I would still purchase it though even if I didn't own a couple of iPods - solely because of the sound this JVC produces.
The iPods nice wake sound is outputted thru the JVC.

The JVC has lovely sound, no horrible 'tinny' treble, nice midrange and for the size, rather a smooth base.It looks great, charges two iPods at the same time, colours are cool (the LED lights - gimmicks, I know, and easily turned off).
I think this system is geared for the iPod touch and classic.
It does have wonderful sound on it's own with line-in , FM etc, but incorporates so many iPod features on both the unit and remote some may think twice if they didn't own an iPod.
I like the audio-in, FM/AM features, haven't used the video out feature.
